Lady Cougs Win Second Straight, Down Citrus 67-50

College of the Canyons powered past visiting Citrus College 67-50 in the Cougar Cage as conference play continued Wednesday night.
Canyons (9-8, 3-1) opened up the game with a three-pointer from Natalie Satamian and maintained the lead the rest of the way.
The Owls (5-11, 1-1) fought to match the Cougars through the first half, but instead entered halftime trailing Canyons 30-24 at the half.
The Cougars came out even stronger in the third quarter, putting down 21 points to the Owl's five and creating a steep uphill battle for Citrus with the 22-point deficit.
Though the Owls managed to outscore the Cougars 21 points to 16 in the fourth quarter, it wasn't enough to overcome COC's commanding lead.
April Tuason was a major component in the Cougars' victory, leading her team with 22 points, netting 6 three-pointers and going 8-for-14 from the field.
COC sophomore LuLu Salloom, validated her current athlete of the week status from all over the court. Salloom put down 15 points while recording 17 rebounds, eight offensive and nine on defense. She also claimed four assists and three blocks on the night.
Overall, Canyons shot 40.6 percent from the field allowing only 11 turnovers.

Upcoming Schedule
The Cougars are back in action on the road their next two games.
The first game is Saturday, Jan 14 against Antelope Valley College and the following game will be against West Los Angeles College on Wednesday, Jan 18. Both tip-offs are schedule for 5 p.m.
