Canyons Places Third at WSC Tourney No. 2

The College of the Canyons women's golf team played to a third place finish at Western State Conference (WSC) tournament No. 2 on Monday, as the Cougars carded a four-player score of 335 at Santa Barbara Golf Club.
Tournament host Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) took first place with a score of 321, while Citrus College finished a close second place at 325.
Moorpark College (418) and Glendale College (457) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Bakersfield College also competed at the event, but with only three entered players did not factor into the final team results.
COC sophomore Tiffany Whittaker was the low score for the Cougars, as her mark of 76 placed her as the tourney's third place individual finisher.
Sophomore Julia Youn shot a 78 to finish in fifth place, while Alexis Miller turned in a score of 88 to finish 10th.
Canyons will next host WSC tourney No. 3 on Monday, Sept. 21, at Elkins Ranch Golf Course in Fillmore.
