Canyons Holds Off Citrus for Second WSC Tourney Win
Cougars finish with a team score of 329 to hold off host Citrus College’s second place mark of 333.
The College of the Canyons women's golf team topped the leaderboard with a first place finish at Western State Conference (WSC) Tourney No. 4, at San Dimas Golf Course on Monday.
Canyons finished with a team score of 329, which just beat out host Citrus College's mark of 333.
Leading the Cougars were sophomores Tiffany Whittaker and Julia Youn, who both finished with a score of 79. That was good enough to place the duo in a tie of the tourney's third place spot.
COC freshman Amanda Horii finished seventh overall with a score of 84. Sophomore Alexis Miller finished in tenth place with an 87.
Canyons will return to the links on Monday Oct. 12, as the Cougars travel to Kern River Golf Course for WSC Tourney No. 5, event hosted by Bakersfield College.
