COC Women's Golf Places Second at Brookside
Cougars are currently even with Santa Barbara and Citrus in a three-way tie for conference’s top spot.
The College of the Canyons women's golf team competed in Western State Conference (WSC) Tourney No. 6 hosted by Glendale College at Brookside Golf Course on Monday, with the Cougars finishing in second place.
Canyons carded a team score of 336 to finish behind event champion Santa Barbara City College at 331. Citrus was the tourney's third place finisher at 339.
The Cougars are currently tied with both Santa Barbara and Citrus in a three-way stranglehold on the conference's top position.
COC sophomore Tiffany Whittaker led the Cougars with a score of 80, which was a good for a third place individual finish.
Sophomore Alexis Miller finished sixth overall with a score of 83, and freshman Amanda Horii rounded out the top-10 with a score of 86.
COC will next participate in WSC Tourney No. 7 hosted by Moorpark College at Tierra Rejada Golf Course on Oct. 26.
The WSC finals will then be held at Alisal River Golf Course in Solvang Nov. 1 and 2.
