Cougars Take Third at WSC Championships
Canyons will now compete at the SoCal Championships, also being held at Alisal River Golf Course from Nov. 8-9.
The College of the Canyons women's golf team finished in third place at the Western State Conference (WSC) Championships on Monday, good enough to earn the Cougars a trip to this weekend's California Community College Athletic Association SoCal Regional Championships.
The event was held at Alisal River Golf Course in Solvang.
Canyons carded a two-day score of 689 (349/340) to finish behind second place Citrus (667) and conference champion Santa Barbara City College (655).
COC sophomore Tiffany Whittaker was the top individual finisher for the Cougars with a two-day mark of 160 (79/81).
Sophomore Alexis Miller also finished just inside the tournament's top-10 with a score of 172 (85/87).
COC golfers Julia Youn and Amanda Horii joined Whittaker and Miller in receiving All-WSC honors.
