Canyons women's golf to tee off at South Coast Classic Aug. 27-28

The College of the Canyons women's golf team will tee off at the annual South Coast Classic tournament being held at the Buenaventura Golf Course in Ventura Aug. 27-28.
The two-day event will also feature the first Western State Conference action of the 2017 season, as Monday's round will count toward the WSC standings.
Longtime COC head coach Gary Peterson begins the season with a roster of eight incoming freshman who will look to claim the program's ninth Western State Conference title, and first since 2014.
The Cougars will play in eight conference events leading up to the WSC Finals on Oct. 29-30 in Bakersfield.
In late September, COC will also take part in the two-day Morro Bay Invite, being held at the same course which annually hosts the 2017 California Community College Athletic Association State Championship event. This year's state championships will be held Nov. 12-13.
Canyons will host its home conference event on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Elkins Ranch Golf Course in Fillmore.
