2018 College of the Canyons Women's Golf News

The State Championship is the third in program history (2001, 2007, 2018) all coming under head coach Gary Peterson.

Canyons was paced by an even-par 72 from freshman Haroka Koda while teammates Jessie Lin (75) and Joanna Roecker (77) were also among the top 10 golfers in the field.

Canyons was led by freshman Jessie Lin who won the individual regional championship with a two-day total of 140.

Canyons carded a two-day score of 628 to top second place Santa Barbara (656), while freshman Haruka Koda battled from six shots back to win the individual title.

COC freshman Haruka Koda earned medalist honors for the fourth time this season with her round of 75.

COC freshman Jessie Lin earned medalist honors with her round of 73 to help lead the Lady Cougars to a seventh straight conference win.

Freshmen Haruka Koda (second), Paige Heuer (third) and Jessie Lin (fifth) helped lead Canyons to a first place team score of 325 to top the field by 36 strokes.

The Lady Cougars have won the first four Western State Conference events of the season to sit in the top spot.

Canyons carded a four-player score of 630 (320/310) to top the field of 14 of the top women’s golf programs from across the state.

COC freshman Haruka Koda finished with a round of 70 to earn medalist honors for the second time this season.

The Lady Cougars carded a four-player score of 325, while freshman Jessie Lin carded a 78 to earn medalist honors.

COC freshman Haruka Koda fired a three-under round of 69 to lead the Cougars to victory.

The 2018 campaign officially gets underway Monday, Aug. 27, at Buenaventura Golf Club in Ventura.
