SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Amid the College of the Canyons women's soccer team's recent success – a five-game undefeated streak and 17 goals scored during that span – the Cougars could not find the net against Santa Monica City College, resulting in a 0-0 draw.
The Cougar defense was hardly challenged as the Corsairs only mustered six shots throughout the game, leaving little work for Canyons goalkeeper Priscilla Duron who needed to make only one save on her way to a clean sheet.
Despite outshooting Santa Monica 14 to six, however, only three of those shots forced a save from Santa Monica goalkeeper Jessica Ibarra.
Despite the draw, the Cougars continue their six-game undefeated streak.
The draw takes COC's record to 4-1-3 overall with a 1-0-1 record against conference opponents.
The Cougars next host the road to face L.A. Valley College at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7.
