The COC women's soccer team earned an impressive 6-0 victory against Citrus College to further its case as being the team to beat in the WSC South.
COC (10-1-3, 6-01) got on the board early in the first half when Jennifer Mendez found the back of the net in the 14th minute. Mendez added another to her stat sheet in the 43rd minute off an assist from Astrid Perez.
Forward Marissa Kneisl tallied a hat trick with three goals in the second half, pushing her total to 13 on the season, good for first on the team.
Teammate Jennifer Brown added the team's sixth goal, and COC easily moved on past a Citrus team that entered the match with a respectable 5-2 record in league play.
COC has looked dominant at times this season. The team is scoring more than three goals per contest. Since its 0-0 tie with league foe Santa Monica on Oct. 3, Canyons has outscored its opponents 26-2.
Next up on the schedule is a home contest with Antelope Valley College on Friday, Oct. 24.
