Bio
Ellen Blankenship enters her third season as an assistant coach with the College of the Canyons women’s soccer program in 2024.
Blankenship has worked with a number of local high school and club soccer programs during a coaching career that has spanned more than 20 years. She holds a United States Soccer Federation ‘B’ license, with plans to pursue her ‘A’ licensure in the near future. Blankenship is also a former high school teacher.
She attended Saugus High School and was a four-sport student-athlete (tennis, soccer, basketball, track & field), earning a number of All-League and All-CIF honors. Blankenship was later inducted into the Centurion Athletic Hall of Fame.
After high school, she attended Pitzer College and was a dual-sport athlete and a student athletic trainer for the Sagehens. She played soccer and threw discus and shot put for the track & field program, earning all SCIAC honors in both sports. Blankenship was later inducted in to the Sagehen Athletic Hall of Fame.
Blankenship holds a bachelor’s degree in German from Pitzer, and a master’s degree in Education from the University of La Verne.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, the idea of travel, and re-watching “Ted Lasso” as often as possible.
