CULVER CITY, Calif. — After storming back from two sets down against Antelope Valley in its last match, the College of the Canyons volleyball team made short work of WSC South opponent West LA in a 3-0 (25-7, 25-9, 25-15) sweep on Wednesday.
Maddy Regan led the way for the Cougars with 8.5 points on four kills and four aces, while teammate Alize Bricot added four kills, four digs and four aces of her own to give her a total of eight points.
Middle blocker Kaitlyn Reiner posted six kills and two digs, while Erica Tamayo finished with five kills.
Katie Rutecki found the stat sheet with 15 assists and three digs, while Alexis Serafin, Chelsea Corn and Keirstyn Anderson each finished with two aces.
With the win, COC has now won 11 straight matches. In those contests, the Cougars have dropped just four sets and have yet to lose in conference play.
Despite the stellar season and impressive win streak, conference foe Santa Monica College looms just a game behind the Cougars in second-place.
Those two squads are scheduled to face off on Nov. 12 in Santa Monica. COC won the first meeting of the season between the two teams in a decisive 3-0 sweep.
