Canyons Defeats Victor Valley College for Second Time

The College of the Canyons women's volleyball team continued its strong start to the season with a win over Victor Valley College on day two of the annual Cerritos College Invitational.
Canyons (7-0) cruised to the 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-13) victory. Aiding the Cougars efforts for the experience of having already defeated the Rams (1-7) in COC's home opener back on Sept. 2.
The Cougars have established themselves as a capable offensive threat this season, and that trend continued against the Rams with a .433 hitting percentage from head coach Lisa Hooper's squad.
COC freshman outside hitter Emily Bible led the Cougars with 13 kills and a .500 hitting percentage while adding eight digs.
Sophomore opposite Alize Bricot and outside hitter Brooke Garelick each had seven kills, while Garelick also had 14 digs.
COC freshman setter Emma Levanen had 28 assists and added three aces in contributing to another great service game by COC, which combined for 12 aces in the match.
