College of the Canyons sophomore setter Katie Rutecki has signed a Letter of Intent with Montana State University and will continue her playing career as a member of the Bobcats.
MSU is an NCAA Division I program competing in the Big Sky Conference. The main campus is located in Bozeman, Montana.
Rutecki has played a major role in the COC volleyball program's most recent success, having been a key member of two conference championship teams, while helping the Cougars to a third place place finish at this year's CCCAA State Championship Tournament.
The third place finish at the state tourney represented the best finish in the program's history.
Rutecki earned 2015 CCCAA All-Southern California Regional Team honors and was also an All-WSC First Team selection.
She registered a team-high 725 assists in 24 regular season matches, at a rate of 10.98 per set, to also lead the conference in both categories. Those totals also ranked second in the state.
Her 48 aces were tops at COC.
