Ferguson Named All-American, All-State, All-WSC to Headline Postseason Award Winners

For the second straight season College of the Canyons middle blocker Grace Ferguson has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American, All-State and All-Western State Conference (WSC) teams to cap a brilliant Cougar career.
Ferguson finished the regular season with 222 kills, 77 total blocks, 36 aces and 50 digs. She hit .444 on the season and averaged a team-best 3.04 kills per set, resulting in 306 points over 22 matches.
Those lofty numbers placed her among the conference leaders in several categories. Her 77 blocks ranked second in the WSC while her 222 kills were sixth. Ferguson's 306 points was the No. 5 mark.
The 6'2" sophomore out of Saugus High School was No. 19 in the state in total blocks, while her rate of 1.05 per set was seventh.
Ferguson picks up AVCA Third Team All-American honors for a second season in addition to being one of just 12 players to earn California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) All-State Team honors.

Canyons finished the regular season 15-8 overall and was second in the WSC, South Division with a record of 10-2 in conference play.
Ferguson is joined on the All-WSC First Team by sophomore libero Elizabeth Gannon.
Gannon, who was also a First-Team selection as a freshman, completed the regular season with 272 digs, 61 aces and 24 assists while playing in all 75 sets. She tied for the conference lead in aces and ranked seventh in digs.
Freshman Kayla Tait and sophomore setter Sydney Higginson were named to the All-WSC Second Team.
Higginson tallied 605 assists at a rate of 8.18 per set and finished second on the team with 51 aces to go with 88 digs, 25 total blocks and 22 kills. She ranked third in the conference in both aces and assists.
Tait had a strong freshman season with 132 kills, 49 aces and 181 digs, scoring at a rate of 1.89 kills per set.
Sophomore Madison Martinez and freshman Kyra Titner both picked up All-WSC Honorable Mention accolades.
Martinez was fourth on the squad with 116 kills while playing from the outside hitter and opposite spots. Titner finished the regular season with 84 kills and ranked third on the Cougars with a .385 hitting percentage. The middle blocker also recorded 45 total blocks.
