College of the Canyons has played the toughest non-conference schedule in the state, a fact that has been noted in the most recent California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) statewide rankings.
Canyons (2-6) currently holds the No. 24 spot in the state despite losses in three straight matches.
However, those matches have come against No. 20 Ventura College, No. 5 Cypress College and No. 7 San Diego Mesa.
Meanwhile, the Cougars also picked up quality road wins vs. No. 21 Grossmont College and El Camino College earlier this season.
COC was scheduled to face No. 9 Moorpark in a home match on Sept. 22, but that contest has since been rescheduled to Oct. 5.
Instead, Canyons will next head to No. 8 Santa Barbara City College (9-2) on Friday, Sept. 24, for a 6 p.m. road match.
COC is then scheduled to begin the Western State Conference (WSC) portion of its schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at No. 6 Bakersfield College.
Fans unable to attend future COC women's volleyball home matches can view the free live stream broadcast on the Cougars Sports Network.
