No. 14 Canyons Completes Perfect Conference Run, Wins 3-0 at AVC

LANCASTER — No. 14 College of the Canyons completed its sweep of the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division, and in the process moved its winning streak to 13 games, with a 3-0 road win at Antelope Valley College. Set scores were 25-18, 25-9, 25-14.
Canyons (18-7, 12-0) also moved its win streak vs. WSC, South opponents to 18 games dating back to the 2021 season. The win improved COC's road record to 8-3 on the season.
Antelope Valley (3-17, 0-12) ends the regular season without a conference victory to finish last in the WSC, South division.
The undefeated run vs. conference opponents was the first for Canyons since the 2015 season. COC accomplished that same feat in 2014 as well. The conference title is the seventh in program history (1999, 2000, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2022).

Upcoming Schedule
The conference champion Cougars will close out the regular season with a road match at No. 5 Ventura College, champions of the WSC, North Division, on Tuesday, Nov. 15 as part of the annual WSC Crossover event.
COC and Ventura (21-1, 9-1) previously met on Sept. 16 at the Cougar Cage with the Pirates able to come away with a 3-1 (22-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-18) result.
The two squads also met in the 2021 CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs with the Cougars able to storm back from a 2-0 deficit, on the road, to defeat the Pirates 3-2 (19-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-18, 15-10) and advance to the CCCAA State Championship tournament.
