Ethan Walker Named Male Athlete of the Month for November
On Nov. 21, Walker posted a time of 20:09.8 to win the 2015 CCCAA Men's Cross Country Individual State Championship
College of the Canyons sophomore runner Ethan Walker has been named the November California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA)/California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Male Athlete of the Month.
On Nov. 21, 2015, Walker posted a time of 20:09.8 on the four-mile course at Woodpark Park, in Fresno to win the 2015 CCCAA Men's Cross Country Individual State Championship and bring home JC All-American honors.
With the impressive time, Walker helped lead the cougars to a third place team finish at the statewide meet, which attracted a field of 28 schools. The Cougars totaled 123 points to trail second place Mt. SAC and first place American River College.
Walker also placed second at the 2015 CCCAA Men's Cross Country Southern California Championship, held Nov. 6, at Mission Bay Park in San Diego.
Last spring, Walker won an individual CCCAA Track & Field State Championship in the men's 3,000m steeplechase and was named a 2015 JC All-American.
As a freshman, Walker also helped the Cougars win the 2014 CCCAA Men's Cross Country State Championship.
