Cross Country Teams Combine for Five All-Conference Honorees

College of the Canyons men's and women's cross country had a combined five runners earn All-Western State Conference (WSC) honors, highlighted by freshman Victoria Jamison also earning All-State and All-American accolades.
The All-WSC selections were based on individual results from the WSC Championship meet held at Oxnard College on Oct. 25.
COC women's team honorees included Jamison (4th/18:19.3), freshman Alyssa Arriaga (10th/19:47.5), sophomore Katelyn Catu (11th/19:50.8) and frosh Lilianna Moreira (13th/19:52.8).
Canyons established women's cross country program history in 2024, with the team claiming its first WSC Championship after a triumphant performance on the 5K course at Oxnard.
Later in the season, COC finished sixth at the 3C2A Southern California Regional Championships at Chaffey College before taking ninth place at the 3C2A State Championships in Fresno.
At the state championship meet Jamison earned Junior College All-American Honors and was also named to the 3C2A All-State First-Team after clocking a time of 19:07.3 on what was a wet and muddy course.
On the men's side it was sophomore Nathaniel Wilkinson (12th/ 21:10.09) earning All-Conference honors with his four-mile time.
At the state meet Wilkinson (47th/22:01.4) was the top finisher for a Cougars squad that placed 23rd in the team standings.
Wilkinson's performance represented an improvement of 51 spots compared to his run as a freshman (98th/22:20) in 2023.
