Bio

Albert Loaiza begins his 13th year as an athltic counselor at College of the Canyons in fall 2024.

Loaiza's duties include assisting student-athletes planning, monitoring their academic progress and helping them reach their academic goals. 

Prior to joining the Cougars, Loaiza worked at Citrus College for two years as a STEM and transfer counselor. Loaiza started his counseling career at Mt. San Jacinto as an adjunct counselor, working with the athletic program's student-athletes. 

He graduated from California State University, San Bernardiono in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in sociology and earned a master's degree in counseling from the University of La Verne in 2008. 

In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, going to the beach and watching sports. Loaiza resides in Valencia with his wife, Colleen, and three sons.
