Canyons Takes Third at Southern California Preview
COC also fields a sixth place finisher among the field of 18 schools.
The College of the Canyons men's golf team fielded two teams at the 2015 Southern California Preview, with the Cougars tieing for the tournament's third spot — while also fielding a sixth place finisher.
The tournament, which annually serves as a 'preview' for the upcoming Southern California Championships on May 4, attracted a field of 108 golfers from 18 schools.
COC Team No. 1 turned in a score of 371 to take sixth place. In all, Canyons fielded two teams made up of 15 golfers
Canyons golfers Noa Yap and Clayton Chatterley each shot a 72 to lead COC Team No. 2. The other three scoring competitors — Tyler Waldorf, Matt Murray and William Mullins — each shot a 74.
COC Team No. 1 included the Cougars' best score of the day, with sophomore Eric Kim scoring a 69 to tie for the fourth best mark of the tournament.
Edouard Fiszel finished one shot off that pace with a final score of 70.
Thomas Liltrop turned in a 76, while Cammy Boomer and Braden Lewis rounded out the team's top-five with 78 each.
Canyons currently sits in first place in the Western State Conference.
The Cougars will next participate in WSC tourney No. 5 at Antelope Valley Country Club in Palmdale.
