Cougars Emerge Victorious From 'Clash at the Coast' Tourney
The duo of Hugo Amsallem and Matty Wilson won the two-man, best ball event, while Canyons recorded a team score of 196 to top the field of eight.

LA JOLLA — College of the Canyons emerged with another win after competing in the eight-team 'Clash at the Coast' event at the Torrey Pines North Course.
The two-man, best ball event provided participating programs with a break from traditional scoring formats, along with the opportunity to play at a venue which is a regular stop of the PGA tour.
The Cougars' two-man team of Hugo Amsallem and Matty Wilson combined for a best-ball score of 63 to take home medalist honors.
The duo of Felix Schrott and Chayan Duha shot a 65 to tie for second place with two other pairings.
Nobuhiko Wakaari and Axel Einan reported to the clubhouse with a round of 68 to tie for sixth place with five other teams.
Canyons (196) led the team standings with Mt. San Antonio College (199), Santa Barbara City College (204) and Orange Coast College (207) in the top four spots.
Palomar (214), Mt. San Jacinto (221), Saddleback (224) and Bakersfield (226) finished in the back four.
COC is scheduled to return to conference play on Monday, March 16, at Antelope Valley Country Club. Tee time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
