Canyons Wins WSC Event at Rio Bravo

BAKERSFIELD — College of the Canyons brought home its sixth straight Western State Conference victory of the season on Monday working for a five-man score of 389 at Rio Bravo Country Club.
Behind Canyons, Santa Barbara City College was closest with a score of 397, followed closely by Bakersfield with 399. Ventura settled in fourth (403), Glendale in fifth (409), then Citrus in sixth (420), Antelope Valley in seventh (425) and finally Allan Hancock (450).
Alexander Moores shared medalist honors with SBCC's Caleb Rodriguez, each working for a round of 75. This is Moores third time receiving medalist honors this season.
Directly behind him, sophomore Dom De Luca stood alone in second place shooting a 76 on the day and a stroke behind him was Paul Grimonpon.
COC's Ben Stewart finished with a round of 82, sharing a 20th position and making his debut on the 2023 season Adam Bing brought in an 84, good for 31st, however, his score was dropped from the final tally.
The Cougars will look to push their win streak to seven on Monday, April 10 at the Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura. Tee off is scheduled for 10 a.m.
