Women's Tennis Wins Third Straight 5-4 Over Ventura

College of the Canyons pushed its win streak to three with a 5-4 conference victory over Ventura College at the Cougar Courts on Thursday.
Canyons (3-3) moved back to .500 on the season after losing its first three matches out of the gate. Thursday's narrow victory came by virtue of two double points and three singles wins.
The No. 2 doubles duo of Jennifer Russell and Ellie Wingo won a fifth straight outing and are now unbeaten since the season opener. Faith Abt and Marie Arana Llosa cruised to an 8-0 win to gain a crucial point for Canyons.
COC split singles play with Ventura (1-2) as Russell, Wingo and Arana Llosa each picked up wins. Wingo and Arana Llosa both moved their individual win streaks to three.
Canyons will now have a conference road match at Antelope Valley College at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16.
