Canyons' Cinderella Season Ends at State Championship Tourney

The Cougars (16-11) closed the season with 10 straight wins to advance to state tourney before falling to North No. 1 seed Feather River College in the opening round.

Canyons (16-10, 10-2) was five points away from elimination before going on a run that prolonged is seemingly Cinderella season.

No. 15 seed College of the Canyons upset No. 2 Pasadena City College 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-22) on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the CCCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs. The win by Canyons (15-10, 10-2) was the ninth in a row and snapped the Lancers' 20-match win streak.

No. 15 seed College of the Canyons defeated No. 18 Mt. San Jacinto by a 3-2 (25-16, 22-25, 25-17, 23-25, 15-8) final score in a play-in postseason match.
